The medical drama earns an early pickup.

HBO Max has renewed The Pitt for a third season. The early pickup was announced by HBO CEO Casey Bloys at the medical drama's sophomore premiere Wednesday night at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles.
The series stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Robby, the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital's emergency room. In each of his 15-hour shifts, he works alongside other frontline staff to help patients in the unpredictable and often-hectic environment.
Season 2 of The Pitt premieres tonight and will pick up 10 months after the final hour of the first season.

I finally got around to watching season 1, episode 1 today. I watch a lot of medical shows. Grey's Anatomy and Chicago Med are high on my list. I like those shows a lot. I liked this one too but don't necessarily see it being any better than the others. I kind of expected more based on the hype and the awards. I will continue watching it but I have a big problem with the cinematography. Too many scenes are close-ups and narrow shots. It gives me a claustrophobic feeling to watch it.The camera should be a good 4 or 5 feet further away for most scenes. I have studied film and I find this to be an odd distraction for this series.

I can't even tell you how many other medical dramas I've watched over the decades (including E.R.)... this is the absolute best! First time I ever actually binged a season in one sitting!!

Noah Wyle is staying true to his ER roots. ER is in my top three favorite series of all time. The Pitt carries on its tradition VERY nicely. Glad to see it's getting the recognition it deserves.
