HBO has renewed City of God: The Fight Rages On for a second season. The Brazilian drama, which airs on HBO Latino and streams on Max, is two episodes into its 6-episode freshman run.
Set two decades after the events of the acclaimed 2002 film "City of God," the series follows the lives of residents in Rio de Janeiro's City of God. Wilson "Rocket" Rodrigues has achieved his dream of becoming a photojournalist and returns to the favela to document the disputes between drug dealers, police, militiamen, and politicians. The residents end up trapped in the chaos, but their desire to break this cycle drives the community to unite and confront their oppressors.
The story will continue. #CityOfGod will return for Season 2 on Max.
