No Season 3 for the animated series.
October 9, 2024
Word is out that Max has cancelled Velma after two seasons. The news comes less than a week after the animated comedy released its special Halloween episode, which aired five months after the conclusion of its sophomore run.
"Over the past two seasons, Mindy and Charlie have created an incredibly fun and fresh world within the iconic whodunit franchise," said Max in a statement. "While we won't be moving forward with another season of the series, we thank them for their compelling coming-of-age storytelling, unrivaled clues, and hilarious hijinks."
The show follows Velma Dinkley, who is known as the unsung and underappreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. The humorous spin on the beloved character unmasks the complex and colorful past of the mystery solver back when she was a teenage would-be detective.

How does a show with a 1.6 on imdb get cancelled? Think of the fan! What is they going to do?

Bout time, I gave this show a fair shake, I did. But the humor was awful and the characters were just not enjoyable. It was trying to be this self-aware take on the franchise like a cross between Daria and Venture Bros with maybe some Rick and Morty style humor too. But it didn't gel, those shows took time to give the characters nuance in between the jokes. This one just blurted them out non-stop and expected us to laugh because they pointed it out without a hint of irony.
I chuckled a few times but it wasn't enough to keep me engaged. The mystery aspect was intriguing, but I couldn't stand being with these characters to follow through. Plus from what I heard it just leads to another "Haha we hate Scrappy-Doo" moment which I didn't find funny in the first live action Scooby Doo movie and seriously getting tired of that worn out joke (seriously it's been 30 YEARS since his debut! Enough with the put down of the little guy already. He wasn't THAT bad a character. Do something with him that isnt't mean spirited).
So yeah now that it's over, I'm not shedding any tears. Let it rot and be forgotten.

It's a funny show when you watch it high lol, all the forced wokeness is hilarious.

Never saw it because I'm too cheap to pay for channels that cost extra money, only heard bad things about it

It was sacrificing good story over pushing the envelope. I think it only existed to rip on conservatives. There are more constructive ways to do that.
