No Season 3 for the Rob Lowe comedy.
October 11, 2024
It is being reported by Deadline that Netflix has cancelled Unstable after two seasons. The news comes two months after the comedy released its 8-episode sophomore run, which ultimately failed to draw enough viewers to put it in the streamer's Top 10.
The series stars Rob Lowe as eccentric biotech entrepreneur Ellis Dragon, who is working to make the world a better place; but he has also been in an emotional free-fall after the death of his wife. His son Jackson, played by Lowe's real-life son, is more of a grounded introvert who has had trouble living in his dad's shadow. To save the family business from impending disaster, Jackson returns home to help the company while Ellis' employees continue to work on their potentially world-changing technology.

Another show that was really good that died too soon because no knew it existed. I had never heard of it until the son went on The Tonight Show after the second season had been out for a while. So congrats on ruining good shows!

Oh, well. It was funny and rapid fire. A great binge.

Season 2 had such a bad drop off from Season 1 - it became barely watchable - it’s unfortunate because Season 1 I felt gave the show a lot of hope

I Love this show. So sorry it didn't get picked up. I thought Rob Lowe was hilarious with his son.

I liked it, but had a feeling it wouldn't get a season 3. At least it didn't end on a cliffhanger. The ending was 'good enough' to not leave me in suspense forever.
