Peacock announced today that The Day of the Jackal has been renewed for a second season. The news comes a week after the British drama premiered on the streaming service as its most-watched original series of the week.

Based on the Frederick Forsyth novel of the same name, the show follows a tenacious British intelligence officer hot on the trail of a ruthless assassin known as The Jackal, who makes his living by carrying out hits for the highest fee. The pursuit is a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase that takes them across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.
