The medical drama will return for a second season.
February 14, 2025
Max announced today that The Pitt has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes midway through the medical drama's 15-episode freshman run. Since its January premiere, the series has been the streamer's most-watched title globally, while garnering positive reviews from critics.
"It's been a thrill to watch audiences embrace The Pitt as an update to procedural storytelling with a cast who authentically embody the heroics of doctors and nurses on shift in a 2025 emergency room," said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming. "Our collaboration with John Wells, R. Scott Gemmill, Noah Wyle and Warner Bros. Television has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and we are excited to continue down this path with another season."
"From its powerful stories to its realistic set and unique real-time format, The Pitt is truly a masterclass in storytelling - and it's all due to the talented team of executive producers and crew, and the incredible ensemble cast who truly embody the pace and pressure of a hospital emergency department," said Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD U.S. Networks. "John, Noah, Scott and the team have so many more stories to tell, and we are thankful to our partners at Max for giving them the opportunity to do so."
The show stars Wyle as Dr. Robby, the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital's emergency room. In each of his 15-hour shifts, he works alongside other frontline staff to help patients in the unpredictable and often-hectic environment.

Meh. The only good part is the guy that has to change his scrubs every hour, kind of funny. Not much of a story going on, except for the 5-10 minutes they spend on each patient.

ER but in the style of 24(Every episode the next hour in the day). And originally from Pittsburgh enjoy the occasional but limited Pittsburgh references.

This is an awesome "sequel" to ER. When this first aired I thought "It's awesome to see Dr Carter back at it"...but found out it's a different scenario. All good, still great show. After some research, this was supposed to be the sequel, but the Creighton estate said no. Interesting how each episode is another hour in the same day. Look forward to seeing more.

I haven’t had a chance to check this out, but people I trust have given it glowing reviews so far. We weren’t an ER family growing up, but I’m excited to see what the hype is about.

This is one of my favorite shows. Admittedly, even with CC on, I don't always understand all of what's going on. The medical acronyms and potential maladies are a bit over-my-head.
