The medical drama will be back in 2025-2026.
February 26, 2025
Fox announced today that Doc has been renewed for a second season. The news comes with two episodes remaining in the medical drama's 10-episode freshman run. The episode count will be more than doubling in Season 2, with the network ordering 22 episodes for the show's sophomore outing.
The early pickup makes sense, as the midseason series has been garnering solid ratings since its January debut. Its premiere episode has attracted over 16 million total viewers across all platforms, making it the most watched Fox series premiere episode in over five years. The show is also one of only two new broadcast series this season to grow in its second week among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.
"We are thrilled that audiences have embraced Season 1 of Doc," Fox Television Network President Michael Thorn said in a statement. "Barbie [Kligman] and Hank [Steinberg] have done an outstanding job bringing one of the most emotionally powerful series on television to life. Renewing for a second season was an easy decision, thanks to this incredible team, our partners at Sony, and an exceptional cast, led by the talented Molly Parker."
Doc follows Dr. Amy Larsen, the brilliant Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy is left to navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she's treated, colleagues she's crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves, or the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. She can only rely on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a few loyal friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience.

Didn't like the comment made when a patient was upset by long wait time was told "what do you think this is, Canada!". Given the current issues between US and CANADA, I'm not surprised that US TV shows are going to work that into a story but probably not a good idea.

I find it interesting that so many other people on here love this show. I really tried to like it. I'm watching episode 3 right now. However, because I'm a TV addict, I only have 1% available recording space on my DVR. I have another 7 episodes of this show recorded. I think I'm going to delete them to make room for other shows that I like a lot better. I find this one is just too slow for me and I'm tired of seeing the grey/blue filter on almost every scene. The acting is good. I like a couple of actors who are familiar to me from other past series and I usually like medical dramas a lot. There is just something about this one that does not leave me at all curious about upcoming episodes. I am surprised so many of you love it so much. Different strokes.

Wow 22 episodes is a lot. I hope they find a way to keep the storyline interesting without turning it into a standard medical drama. I'm liking the show more than I thought I would!

Great news!! I watched the first episode and have the rest recorded waiting for a S2 confirmation. I did not want to get attached only to have it canceled.
