It is being reported that Almost Paradise has been cancelled by Amazon after two seasons. The news isn't surprising, as it has been nearly two years since the drama aired its sophomore run on the now-defunct Amazon Freevee streaming service.

The series premiered in 2020 on WGN America, but when the cable network rebranded to NewsNation in 2021, it was acquired by Amazon Freevee and picked up for a second season. Unfortunately the streaming service was shut down last year and Almost Paradise looks to have been a casualty of that move, with Amazon opting not to continue it on Prime Video.

"We're looking for a new home," executive producer Dean Devlin told TV Insider. "I've never had a show that was this successful and yet couldn't stay at the same place more than one season. As you can tell from Leverage: Redemption, I don't give up. So at some point, Almost Paradise will be back. I just don't know when."

Almost Paradise follows ex-DEA agent Alex Walker, who was forced into early retirement and now lives on a small tropical island in the Philippine Archipelago where he runs a gift shop. But before long he discovers that living a peaceful lifestyle is not as easy as he thought.
