No Season 2 for the lifeguard drama.
May 7, 2025
It is being reported by Deadline that Rescue: HI-Surf has been cancelled by Fox after one season. The news comes a month after the drama wrapped its freshman run on the network.
Premiering last fall, the show garnered a respectable audience but was not a breakout hit like fellow Fox drama 'Doc.' It averaged 2.8 million total viewers, ranking fifth out of the seven dramas on the network this season, while ranking third among adults 18-49. Overall the show was the season's 10th most-watched new broadcast drama out of 12.
Set on the North Shore of O'ahu, the series follows a team of dedicated and heroic first-responders who spend their days saving lives in the difficult and often life-threatening conditions of Hawaii's Seven Mile Miracle - the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world.

This was a decent show. I thought Fox would pick it up for another season. It was a Hawaiian show with Hawaiian actors. NCIS really didn’t do that and neither did Hawaii Five-0 outside of a few small parts and characters. I love that it was a surfing base show and I’m hoping that maybe Hulu or Netflix or one of the streaming services could pick it up

I actually ended up liking this show. Wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it might be. I’m sorry to see Fox cancelled it. Don’t know why they cancel it but renews dumb shows like Going Dutch and Animal Control

This is an amazing show!! I'm always baffled at the decision to cancel shows that are doing well in rating's after one season. It may not be "killing it" but it is still doing well

This is disappointing. I was learning about what it's like to live in Hawaii - obviously dramatized, but still it was great to see native Hawaiians being cast in a show about Hawaii. Plus it was cool to see the way different rescues were executed, either swimming out to the victim or using different sorts of water craft.
I'll miss this one. :(

This is really too bad.... shows like these are easy to get into and could build a loyal fanbase over time. I was looking forward to another season.

This was a show I was looking forward to watching. Everyone seemed to like it. I heard great things about it. Bummer!
Glad I put off watching or I would have been even more bummed.

This is horrible news. Absolutely LOVED this show. It had terrific characters and beautiful scenery and was really interesting. And not jiggle-TV at all despite the beach setting. Just a wonderful, smart, thoughtful and entertaining show. I am beyond disappointed it’s being cancelled.
