Netflix announced today that Starting 5 is returning for a second season on October 16. It has been nearly a year since the basketball documentary series aired its 10-episode freshman run.
The show's first season offered a behind-the-scenes look at the 2023-24 NBA season through the eyes of five of the league's biggest players - Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics). Episodes captured their battles on and off the court as they pushed through injuries and balanced the demands of family and legacy while chasing greatness.
The lineup of stars featured in Season 2 includes Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), and James Harden (Los Angeles Clippers). The new season will consist of eight episodes.
