The legal drama will return for Season 2.
October 23, 2025
USA Network announced today that The Rainmaker has been renewed for a second season. The news comes less than a week after the legal drama wrapped its 10-episode freshman run. Per the network, the show ranks as its most-watched new series in seven years in total cross-platform viewership.
"The verdict is in — The Rainmaker is returning for season two on USA Network," said Val Boreland, President, Entertainment, Versant. "Along with our brilliant showrunner Michael Seitzman and our partners at Lionsgate and Blumhouse, we're thrilled to build on the momentum and deliver another compelling chapter of this gripping legal drama for our viewers."
Based on the best-selling novel by John Grisham, the series follows Rudy Baylor, a young lawyer fresh out of law school who goes head-to-head with courtroom lion Leo Drummond as well as his law school girlfriend, Sarah. Rudy, along with his boss, Bruiser, and her disheveled paralegal, Deck, uncover two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client's son.

Thrilled!!!! Absolutely love Lana Parilla in this. She was meant for this role. Would love to see her on more tv shows--also like her sidekick, the paralegal. So happy to hear this!

NICE! I hope they do a few smaller cases - like 1-2 episodes long and a main season-long case. It's my only gripe.
