The 'Fire Country' spinoff will be back next fall.

CBS announced today that Sheriff Country has been renewed for a second season. The early pickup comes just six episodes into the police procedural's debut run. Fellow Friday freshman series 'Boston Blue' was also renewed today.
"Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming," said Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment. "These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera."
A spinoff of 'Fire Country,' the series follows Mickey Fox, the straight-shooting stepsister of Cal Fire's division chief Sharon Leone. As the sheriff of small-town Edgewater, she patrols the streets investigating criminal activity while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
