HBO Max has renewed The Pitt for a third season. The early pickup was announced by HBO CEO Casey Bloys at the medical drama's sophomore premiere Wednesday night at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles.
The series stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Robby, the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital's emergency room. In each of his 15-hour shifts, he works alongside other frontline staff to help patients in the unpredictable and often-hectic environment.
Season 2 of The Pitt premieres tonight and will pick up 10 months after the final hour of the first season.

Noah Wyle is staying true to his ER roots. ER is in my top three favorite series of all time. The Pitt carries on its tradition VERY nicely. Glad to see it's getting the recognition it deserves.
