Fox announced today that Farmer Wants a Wife will return for its fourth season on April 21. Actor and author Kimberly Williams-Paisley is back as host for the second time after taking over from Jennifer Nettles last year.
Based on an original British series from 2001, the show is actually the second US version - the first aired a single season on The CW in 2008. In total, over 30 countries have adapted the format.
Farmer Wants a Wife features three hard-working farmers who each host a group of single women who leave city life behind for some country living. Each farmer and their group of singles meet and mutually select one another before the women are invited to experience life on their respective farm. Each group gets to see what life is really like on a working farm - from tending to the land, feeding cattle and baling hay, to the business operations. For the ladies, the adventure could change the course of their lives forever.

Obviously all the dates are staged and sometimes it's pretty strained. More than one woman has left because it wasn't her path to fame. Others have left because farm life simply wasn't for them. But couples from previous seasons have shown up in later ones and appear to be happy. Can you trust any of it? Maybe not. But can you trust anybody's marriage these days?

Season 4 of 'Farmer Wants a Wife' premieres on Tuesday, Apr. 21 at 8:00pm.
