No Season 2 for the police dramedy.
February 14, 2026
Word is out that Good Cop/Bad Cop has been cancelled after just one season. The US-Australian dramedy aired on The CW with an 8-episode run early last year. Star Luke Cook broke the news on TikTok.
"Sad to let you know this but we will not be doing a Season 2 of Good Cop/Bad Cop," said Cook in the video message. "I loved making that show. I loved making friends with everybody on that cast and crew, and John, who wrote the show, they're all my great friends so I'm sad we won't get to do it again. But thank you to everyone who watched the show."
The series follows two siblings, played by Cook and Leighton Meester, who also happen to be a detective team in a small Pacific Northwest police force. Together they must contend with eclectic residents, a serious lack of resources, and their very complicated dynamic with each other - as well as their police chief who is also their father.

Very disappointed. I was looking forward to a season 2. It's funny, light-hearted and just quirky enough. I loved their relationship with the dad.

Disappointed... not the best show ever, but certainly better than all those reality shows that go on to have 10+ seasons (but cost very little, so let's keep making those!)
Yes, it had flaws... yes, it was "light"... yes, it was made for viewers that have an IQ above 90. Fewer and fewer of those.

I liked it, but I can't say I'm surprised, it was about as far away from the cool new thing that attract masses as can be.

This can't come as a surprise to anyone who actually watched an episode. The acting was painful to watch and the storylines were ridiculous. It's pretty bad you get cancelled on a network where everything gets renewed because CW is only around as a tax write-off for Nexstar.

It was a very enjoyable show and I am very sorry to see it come to an end.
