No Season 2 for the police dramedy.
February 14, 2026
Word is out that Good Cop/Bad Cop has been cancelled after just one season. The US-Australian dramedy aired on The CW with an 8-episode run early last year. Star Luke Cook broke the news on TikTok.
"Sad to let you know this but we will not be doing a Season 2 of Good Cop/Bad Cop," said Cook in the video message. "I loved making that show. I loved making friends with everybody on that cast and crew, and John, who wrote the show, they're all my great friends so I'm sad we won't get to do it again. But thank you to everyone who watched the show."
The series follows two siblings, played by Cook and Leighton Meester, who also happen to be a detective team in a small Pacific Northwest police force. Together they must contend with eclectic residents, a serious lack of resources, and their very complicated dynamic with each other - as well as their police chief who is also their father.

This was intelligent, well-rounded, could interact with so many viewers, actual CW programming. This show took all the bits of the other shows that built CW and melded it into a cool northern-exposure type thing.
This show had multi genres. And presented them tight.
Leighton, a nineties sweetheart kicking ass again.
L. Cook doing an easier to relate to 'monk' or obsessive type.
and- clancy brown. there can be only one show to contain that coolness.
Season one built a town, characters, friend characters, ancillaries, plot possibilities....
I think the show could have been a centerpiece for the channel.
irony: This could have been their firefly cold town detective noir.
Instead they are on season 5? of a recovering alchoholic lawyer drama show, starring an original firefly member.
COME ON ALGORITHM
THESE EIGHT EPISODES, WE ENJOYED EM. FOUND NO FAULTS. go ahead and cancel the series. that is why we resist that terminator company and leyland-weyauntu-something corps.
I have digressed, but if A.I. had any brains, it would give us the shows every small niche wants, whilst plotting our distruction.
