Fox announced today that Animal Control has been renewed for Season 5. The news comes midway through the workplace comedy's fourth season, which is delivering its strongest performance to date. The December premiere marked a historic series high, becoming the first broadcast comedy in over 15 years to see a fourth season launch outperform all three prior season premieres.

The single-camera show is the network's first wholly owned live-action comedy. Its series premiere in 2023 marked the most-streamed debut in network history and its most-streamed comedy episode ever.

"With the writing, ensemble, and audience response all landing at new levels, renewing Animal Control was an easy decision," said Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network. "The series launched to new highs in its fourth season, which is a direct reflection of the show's continued creative growth, outstanding producing team, and the incredible Joel McHale as our lead."

The half-hour series stars Joel McHale as Frank, an opinionated animal control officer who has an uncanny ability to understand animals. But humans - that's another story. Frank's partner, Fred "Shred" Taylor, is an optimistic rookie who constantly gets on his nerves. They both report to their sweet-natured and awkward boss Emily. Also in the precinct are Amit and Victoria, partners who could not be more opposite.
