Paramount+ announced today that Criminal Minds: Evolution has been renewed for Season 20 in 2027. The pickup is an early one, coming before the release of Season 19 on May 28.

The series serves as a continuation of the original 'Criminal Minds' that aired between 2005 and 2020 on CBS. Today's renewal is for the fifth season since the 'Evolution' revival. The format of Criminal Minds: Evolution differs from the original in that a single case is investigated over the course a season rather than a case being solved during each episode.
