No Season 2 for the workplace comedy.
March 27, 2026
It is being reported that DMV has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes with six episodes remaining in the comedy's freshman run. The series finale is scheduled to air on May 11.
The show got off to a decent start last fall, but ratings did taper off over the course of the season, leaving it as one of the network's lowest rated scripted originals.
Based on the short story by award-winning author Katherine Heiny, the half-hour series is set at a busy DMV office, where a crew of lovable misfits tackle bureaucracy, bad attitudes, and busted printers — all with minimum wage and maximum sarcasm.

I’m so saddened. I think it would’ve gotten better. The last episode (before cancellation) rated 2.8 million. For today’s standards??? That’s pretty good…

If it were a new & stupid game or reality show, it would have been renewed

Not the funniest new show on tv but I liked it. I think the show should have been given a chance.

The show just wasn't funny at all, St. Denis MEd way better.

Wasn’t my favorite show but it had funny moments. I do wish it was more of a mokumentary in the style of The Office or Parks & Rec. Still I enjoyed it, if it was renewed it would’ve gotten better I think. Shame CBS didn’t give it a more of a chance

Let’s be honest
Nobody expected this to get a season 2. This was the most number of episode we expected to have to put up with. The show was not horrible, but was generic enough to be tiring. Oh no Tim Meadow hates his job. Oh no the branch might get shut down. Oh no that one employee is weird. Oh no a secret office will they/won’t they. The writers were not going to answer any of the problems and by ep 3 had milked them dry. With so many ideas out there they don’t need to stick to remaking old ideas in a new setting.
This was the best outcome this type of show could hope for.

I hate CBS. Funny show and Tim Meadows kills. It cannot be too pricey to produce. Fox should rescue this. They could find room.

Oh no! I am absolutely shocked CBS would pull this show. Maybe Harriet Dyer has a bad luck curse on her; her previous effort "American Auto" was yanked after 2 seasons despite the stellar ensemble cast headed by Ana Gasteyer.

Oh come on!!! Finally a show Tim Meadows is funny in!!! His sarcasim is so outstanding (BTW, also hilarious in peacemaker season 2). DMV needs to be revived!!! Maybe Fox or nbc??? I also like Tony and gigi. It kinda reminded of parks and recreation (without the one on one camera scenes) cause no one wanted to work. Maybe they should include in the moment actor to camera dialog (non cut-aways)??? Tim Meadows deserves more respect!!!!

Um, Shawn, b/c who’d want to watch that? I thought this show was fun and probably would gotten better w/ time.
