No Season 2 for the sequel series.

It is being reported by Deadline that Spartacus: House of Ashur has been cancelled by Starz after a single season. The news comes three months after the historical drama wrapped its 10-episode freshman run. Word is that producer Lionsgate Television is making efforts to shop it to other networks.
A sequel to the 2010 series 'Spartacus,' the show follows Ashur, who has clawed his way to power, owning the same ludus that once owned him. But ruling a band of merciless gladiators is child's play compared to surviving the savage world of Roman politics - a cutthroat game in which betrayal isn't a sin, it's currency. He flips tradition on its head by unleashing Achillia, a fierce and powerful gladiatrix eager to prove herself worthy in a man's world. Together, they ignite a new kind of spectacle that shocks, disrupts and offends the elite with every drop of blood.

I'm not the one that came up with the word, the word boss girl was invented detailing a written character in a story you cannot ascertain a person's real life character by using the word boss girl. Seems like when you said did mommy not love you enough comment you think cause we use the world boss girl and we don't enjoy those products that we didn't get enough love from our mothers. Just cause a person uses that word it doesn't mean that they have dislike/disdain towards women. At the end of the day the show is done, it's over and people are still not going to view boss girls the same way you do. However there's nothing wrong with those people, just like there's nothing wrong with you for consuming and not minding this type of media. People just have different taste and I had a strong feeling when this show was announced that it was going to be cancelled and not make it past the first season. If there was a male lead and the woman was his partner and said woman had the written archetype like Sarah Conner or Ellen Ripley well I would def be interested in that.
I appreciate your response to my comment. However words you used to make your point is exactly why I asked did mommy not love you enough. To use the phrase boss girl show, shows exactly yours and others distaste for the show is based on a female co lead gladiator not the actual product of the show itself. Besides she isn't even the lead in the show Ashur was the lead. The previous 5 seasons with all male gladiators has nothing to do with this at all. Ashur's character was using the opportunity to use a female gladiator when no one else had before. Having her as his champion makes his house more interesting and wanted for the arena. It is a calculated move which would obviously lead to him getting better male gladiators which his house lacked.
My point to all this is if you just don't like the show because of a female gladiator then that is something you need to deal with mentally. But to say the show sucked and no one wants to watch a boss girl show is just typical talk from those that do not know better.
To be fair the show has a target audience of males and they are trying to use a female protagonist. Obi Wan said to Anakin on Mustafar you have done this yourself and that's exactly what Starz did by trying to bring a female protagonist to male audience show.
Spartacus ran for 5 seasons and survived even after the main actor passed away. A show like this has to be a male dominated show. If you enjoy watching boss girls that's on you and to each their own but that's not most guys. I think if the girl was doing the political battle not Ashur and there was male gladiator the show could have lasted longer. The last part about mommy not loving you enough is unnecessary man, just cause you enjoy the show and others didn't I don't see how this comment has anything do with it and why you had to type cause no one enjoyed the show like you did.
For those that had a problem with the co lead as a female gladiator just another typical response from those that do not know better. There are two known female gladiators with their depictions at the British Museum. And wait...what one of those women were named Achillia. No way the show creators used some truth in their story telling. Those crazy women lovers. Did mommy not love you enough???
lol "NEVER say" you're an idiot and no one asked for your opinion.
No matter how you try to spin it, or use hooded words, you’re a racist. Nobody listens to people who use hooded words. You were brought up wrong and it is sad. You are trying to make the rest of the world think your point of view is valid but it’s obviously backwards.
@Roni
They didn’t give this show a whole season? They never showed 10 full episodes? They didn’t have a pilot made? They never put show on air? They didn’t take meetings with the creators? Hundreds of show get pitched. To even get a pilot episode made is taking a big chance on a show. NEVER say "they didn’t give it a chance," it makes you sound Whitney.
