No Season 2 for the sequel series.
May 22, 2026
It is being reported by Deadline that Spartacus: House of Ashur has been cancelled by Starz after a single season. The news comes three months after the historical drama wrapped its 10-episode freshman run. Word is that producer Lionsgate Television is making efforts to shop it to other networks.
A sequel to the 2010 series 'Spartacus,' the show follows Ashur, who has clawed his way to power, owning the same ludus that once owned him. But ruling a band of merciless gladiators is child's play compared to surviving the savage world of Roman politics - a cutthroat game in which betrayal isn't a sin, it's currency. He flips tradition on its head by unleashing Achillia, a fierce and powerful gladiatrix eager to prove herself worthy in a man's world. Together, they ignite a new kind of spectacle that shocks, disrupts and offends the elite with every drop of blood.

@Lol
No matter how you try to spin it, or use hooded words, you’re a racist. Nobody listens to people who use hooded words. You were brought up wrong and it is sad. You are trying to make the rest of the world think your point of view is valid but it’s obviously backwards.
@Roni
They didn’t give this show a whole season? They never showed 10 full episodes? They didn’t have a pilot made? They never put show on air? They didn’t take meetings with the creators? Hundreds of show get pitched. To even get a pilot episode made is taking a big chance on a show. NEVER say "they didn’t give it a chance," it makes you sound Whitney.

Too bad. Imop, the powers that be at Starz, totally mishandeled the promotion for this series. Tons of promotion, almost a year before it's release. Then when the series finally lanuched, crickets- at least in my corner of the world. When I noticed that the show was on the schedule, it was more than halfway throught it's first season. Why bother?

8 comments. 7 people plus myself are upset with the cancellation. One idiot complaining about DEI. LOL must not like black people. Rome did a lot of business with Egypt. Egypt is in Africa. Most Africans are black. Or are you bothered by the gay doctori? Homosexuality was quite common in Rome. Great show. Hopefully some other network grabs this show. Just don't tell LOL.

Well Jupiter’s cock, that sucks. I really thought this would be terrible, but, to my surprise, it was great!… as long as you’re able to overlook the whole resurrection thing. Had the vibes of the old shows, and with great writing. It was like listening to Shakespeare…. if Shakespeare said “fuck” in every other sentence.

I also liked Ashur in the original series, but it WAS weird how they brought him back. But I started to like this after a couple episodes. Was hoping for at least one more season. But that might be because of what Network it's on, Sta...something?

Aww that sucks, felt like a slow start but by the middle I was hooked, ended up really enjoying it.
Booo to Starz for ditching the best thing on their books.
