No Season 2 for the spy thriller.
June 23, 2026
It is being reported that Ponies has been cancelled by Peacock after one season. Coming five months after the release of its freshman run, the news doesn't come as a shock. While the spy thriller was well received by critics and viewers, it ultimately failed to draw a sizeable audience. Unfortunately for those who did watch, the show ended on a cliffhanger, leaving several plot points unresolved.
Set in 1977 Moscow, the series follows Bea and Twila, two "PONIES" ("persons of no interest" in intelligence speak) who work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy. When their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, and the pair become CIA operatives and work to uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery that made them widows.

Honestly I don't even remember how season 1 ended. All I remember is that it was too silly to be taken seriously, and too serious to be a comedy. And some story decisions were just asinine. I didn't hate it, would've watched a season 2 because of the two leads but it was in no way a well thought out series.

Shame, Emilia Clark was much better in this than that Disney Invasion. Her co star was pretty good as well, maybe it will be picked up by another streaming service, the concept seemed new and it had its ups and downs but was an enjoyable watch.

Oh my god I literally just finally started watching it the other day. I was so excited for an Emilia Clarke vehicle. No point in finishing it at this point I guess.

Guess the KGB will have them forever seeing how it ended

Definitely seems like something for a movie not enough of a story to make it a multi season show on for years to wrap it up
