The drama will not return for a second season.
July 7, 2026
It is being reported by Deadline that It's Not Like That has been cancelled by Prime Video after one season. The news comes less than two months after the drama released its freshman run on the streaming service. It's unclear why it got the axe, as reviews were generally positive and it did make it into Prime Video's Top 10 global series list in early June.
The series stars Scott Foley as Malcolm Jeffries, a pastor who recently became a widowed father of three. Erinn Hayes plays Lori Soto, a newly divorced mother with two teenagers. Their families once did everything together, but now Malcolm and Lori must navigate their new reality of singledom with parenthood.

Dang. So disappointing. I loved this show. Really good actors.I loved the complexity. I wanted to see where it went with Malcom and Lori. It is rotten that we don't get to see what happens next. Very bad decision by prime video.
I hope we will see Scott Foley again.

This is a really good show and deserves to have a second season. You should really reconsider your decision.

This show could not get out of its own way. The plot was ridiculous and this was evident in the performances because they were painful to watch. A show where the guy falls in the love with dead wifes best friend. It wasn't interesting the first 200 times it was done and it was worse this time. Waste of a quality cast.

Not surprised at this many scenes felt repetitive, and some emotional moments failed to have the impact they were clearly aiming for because the characters were not given enough depth or development. Their decisions and reactions sometimes felt unrealistic or rushed, which made it harder to become invested in them. I found myself getting bored at several points throughout the show. I also don't think this had much of a story line to keep it going on for a long time to wrap up what the show is trying to make out of it.

I watched 2.5 episodes... bored to tears and, for me, way too many references to the all-seeing zombie from 2000 years ago.
