The spinoff is bringing back LL Cool J's Sam Hanna.

CBS has set a premiere date of October 6 for NCIS: New York, the seventh spinoff in the long-running franchise. The series will air on Tuesdays at 9:00pm as part of an 'NCIS' night, between 'NCIS' and 'NCIS: Origins.'
The new series will see LL Cool J reprise his role as Sam Hanna from 'NCIS: Los Angeles.' It marks the first time that a character from an existing 'NCIS' series has moved over to headline a new location-based spinoff.
He will partner with a roguish agent played by Scott Caan to lead a new team tasked with high-stakes missions to defend one of the world's most vital cities and ports.

NCIS Sydney is an Australian produced show. It is not affiliated with the US shows. They did scrap NCIS Red which had a back door pilot on NCIS Los Angles.

I had never watched before and started with Sydney (which is ok at best) I will give NY a try as I love looking to see familiar city scenes or lack there of

Would've been better if Scott Caan's character was Danny from the late, cancelled Hawaii 5-O show, but I think I'm one out of ten people that even remember that show existed.

NCIS LA cancelled, LL Cool J moved to NCIS Hawaii.
NCIS Hawaii cancelled, LLC Cool J moved to NCIS New York.
What happens when NCIS New York gets cancelled? They move him to NCIS Sydney? Then when that gets cancelled, they move him to the main show as a full cast member to complete the curse there?
I like the Sam Hanna character, but he seems to be bad luck lately.

Oh no, I give up. Hannah can't act and neither could the other guy in NCIS L.A., that's why viewing figures were lower than NCIS.
