Netflix has announced that Formula 1: Drive to Survive is coming back for a ninth season in 2027. On the air since 2019, the racing docuseries has been consistent in releasing a new season in February or March of each year since its debut.

"We're so excited to be making Season 9 of this iconic show," said James Gay-Rees & Paul Martin, executive producers at producer Box to Box. "This year we're going to go deeper than ever before into the hidden spaces of this fantastic sport."

The show gives viewers an immersive look at the drivers, managers, and team owners involved in the Formula 1 World Championship. All involved live their life in the fast lane — both on and off the track — during each season of Formula 1 racing.

Season 9 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive will once again take fans behind the scenes, to witness first-hand how the drivers and teams prepare to battle it out for the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The series will continue to offer never-before-seen footage as we follow new team lineups, management takedowns, fierce friendships and bitter rivalries of another high-octane season on the Formula 1 circuit.
