NBC announced that American Ninja Warrior has been renewed for two new seasons - Season 19 in 2027 and a Special Summer of Champions Season 20 in 2028. The news follows Monday night's finale, where the latest winner was crowned and awarded the $250,000 grand prize.
Season 19 will see the return of the iconic Mt. Midoriyama and Season 20 will celebrate the sport's inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games with a special Summer of Champions, featuring several former Olympians and elite ninja champions from more than 15 countries around the world. Production for Seasons 19 and 20 is slated to begin later this year, with all rounds of the competition filming in Las Vegas.
Based on the Japanese series 'Sasuke,' which has now aired 43 seasons, American Ninja Warrior began its stateside run in 2009 on the now-defunct cable channel G4 before moving to NBC in 2012. It has since been a summer staple for the network, garnering consistently-solid ratings that perform well against its time slot competition.
