No Season 2 for the Nicolas Cage drama.
September 4, 2026
It is being reported that Prime Video has cancelled Spider-Noir after just one season. The news comes three months after the live-action drama released its 8-episode freshman run.
The series got off to a decent start following its May premiere, opening at #2 on the Nielsen U.S. Top 10 charts. But its initial buzz was short-lived, as it fell out of the Top 10 fairly quickly. Reviews were mostly positive, with praise coming from both critics and viewers. The show also picked up an impressive 11 Emmy nominations.
Spider-Noir stars Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York. After a deeply personal tragedy, he is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero.

That sucks. I enjoyed the show enough to rewatch it in both versions. The black and white version I noticed more subtle details that I didn't in color. I've never been a fan of Peter Parker (though Tom Holland doesn't make me hate him anymore), but growing up with him in comics, cartoons and The Amazing Spider-Man live action in the late 70's he was a staple of my childhood.
I'm glad that Nick got to play Ben's version of (ignoring the entire new origin story) Spider-Man. He's been one of those people who you love or hate. I know I'm in the very small majority with this, enjoyed his acting as Ghost Rider, but the script was garbage. When I read years ago he wanted to play Spider-Man I hoped I would see the day and filled out every petition to show my support for it. I'm glad he got at least one season and it helped redeem the Ghost Rider stank.

I dunno... im on the fence about this one. I was not able to see it in B/W because my "tivo was too old to split the formats" - gave me the impression Amazon wasnt taking it too seriously. I really had an issue with the timeline too - the entire series was set over what, a couple of weeks? Seems like ALOT happened in a VERY short time. I would have watched a second season, but im not going to miss not having one.

Time to cancel my prime membership, the only good show they have left is Reacher.

Well at least it'll make room in the lineup for entertainment like off campus, the worst Batman animated series the Capes Crusader and some other ridiculous media. They spend all this money on developing pretty groundbreaking and engaging shows just to let them die on the vine. Then, pretend as though it was a limited series in spite of the show doing everything except breaking the 4th wall to say, we'll be back next season with the rest of the story.

This is the first time, I'm hearing about this show. I have both Prime and MGM+. Maybe the cancellation has something to do, with not enough promotion of this show.

This is stupid every time a decent show comes out they cancel it. Pure trash decision making

It wasn't really promoted enough and it was just too niche. And I bet the irony that Tom Holland's Spiderman movie was probably the biggest reason why the show lost its viewership. People are really done/done with superheroes except for the evergreens of spiderman and Batman. The fatigue is real

Dammit he is my favorite of the spiderverse, Nick is perfect for it. I am glad we got one though, I was so excited to see it coming out. Need some excitement in these dark times.

It was a good show. I enjoyed it. Good cast. Not surprised it was canceled, because of the amount of episodes should have been 5 or 6.

At least Sony can end their Spider-Man shared universe and give rights to Disney.
