Production has started on the comedy's final run.

Netflix announced today that A Man on the Inside will be coming to an end after its third season. The comedy was renewed back in February but there was no mention at the time that it would be its final season.
"This series began with a retiree taking a chance at a new life. By answering a help wanted ad and venturing out into the world, Charles Nieuwendyk made his world bigger and proved that life only slows down if you let it," said creator Mike Schur. "We are thrilled to be able to conclude his journey with one final chapter, as embodied by the great Ted Danson, who I am legally required to refer to as a national treasure."
The series stars Danson as Charles, a retired widower who answers an ad from a private detective to help solve a mysterious theft at the Pacific View Retirement Residence in San Francisco. To accomplish this, he goes deep undercover by posing as a new resident at the living community. Along the way he starts to build heartwarming new friendships and a stronger bond with his daughter.
Production on the third and final season of A Man on the Inside has begun in San Francisco. A time frame for its return is not yet known.
