You guys who are blaming ratings on the fact that it's a Hispanic main character need to leave America w Obama, how about all of congress too. Ok ready let's name all the shows that do fine with Hispanic main characters: the bridge, I'd argue that gang related's ratings aren't that bad considering it's summer and it's got a really bad timeslot. Yet you people jump to race? Come on secure borders are just practical no one is saying we don't help these people before we send them home. I haven't seen one boycott of anything Hispanic let alone people not watching a show for that reason. Wow I can't even believe the things people say w no facts, having done no research, and will cry racism against anyone who disagrees respectfully because you're argument makes ZERO sense. They didn't do a good job marketing and they went all in w 24. It should have been right before or after 24. I'm. Ok anyone trying to play the race card here I'm sorry you're an idiot... This show would have killed during the year w A lead in something. Look at 24 it was down 3 million from season 8 finale and that season SUCKED. I don't mean to offend anyone, but if you're going to cry racism as you promote cartel members and diseased kids to overflow our country you don't deserve to be here. Also if you actually think bringing racism back is going to help u ur just not smart. There's also not one person on the team who is of the same race. Did sons of anarchy lose ratings the last 5 seasons they've worked w various Mexicans? No so stop trying to be a victim and let's go back to being colorblind. This show is not cancelled yet but it doesn't look good even tho I could see this going 5 seasons w exploring the stories of the other characters as a backdrop to the main season story. They were all picked for a reason and hopefully we'll find that out if it's gonna be cancelled.

I agree that since the show has Hispanic actors, no one will watch unless it's about a pobrecito Caucasian lead whose being hunted by the big bad evil Mexicans and hooks up with a Mexican female....how sad is that, movies TV shows just shows Latinos/Hispanics/Mestizos nothing more than the villains or hooks up with the Caucasian "hero"

Doomed for failure, let's be REAL it seems that whenever show that has a Hispanic Family lead, aka Kingpin, Cane, and now Gang Related have 3/4's out the door before they even air! At least they get a chance to air. As a Hispanic I find this disturbing, that as a " Nation " within a nation we can't or won't support a show where the primary leads are Latino! Is it because the Networks don't do a better job of promoting the show or the time that the show's on or the Network itself because of their low ranking over all and NO ONE is watching any way! Maybe it's the theme ( gangster element )while intriguing, not everyone wants to watch this type of show, but look at Blue Bloods, violence but attempts to stress family and spiritual beliefs though more and more lassiz fare, ( not as bad as when show first started )but still loose enough for the secular world to watch, even on Friday night, OR maybe because it's CBS and you might as well call them " BUTTER " because they're on a roll right now! I'd be interested to see how Gang Related would do if it was on one of the top 2 networks, but wait I forget, but was Cane on one of tope 3 networks? Lousy day and time though!!

If you are looking for a scapegoat for the series' marginal ratings, then look no further than the marketing department who is supposed to be promoting this show. Most people have never even heard of it, and the only reason I had is because it was recommended to me by my TiVo box.
Phenomenal acting, and a riveting storyline. A little too over the top at times, but so are many successful programs. Ryan is a very complicated and interesting character who is extremely Intriguing - and an archetype of a man torn between 2 alternate and disparate worlds.
This show must go on... If Fox really was the 4th legitimate network, then many of the viewing public who would love this show would have heard of it and tuned in.
