No Season 2 for the freshman drama.

FX has cancelled The Bastard Executioner after one season. Showrunner Kurt Sutter announced the news this morning by placing ads in the Hollywood trades, thanking the cast and crew after confirming that the series would not return for a second season.
Sutter cited a lukewarm reception from viewers as the reason for the show ending. Its premiere episode drew moderate ratings, but its numbers failed to see growth over the course of its 10-episode run.

I loved the concept and most of the lead characters (Katey tried but failed). I will miss the promise it heald. The show needed time to grow the following it deserved and to weed out problems, like well, Katey. I will really miss the "Punisher" and his Love.

Yes I liked this and hope Sutter's ego can handle a series that is not an instant hit. Good cast, interesting setting & plot twists reasonable.

No, I absolutely DO NOT like Kurt Sutter, from everything I've read about his personality, he seems like an ass. I enjoyed this show, but I'm about the farthest thing from a fan of that man. It would've been nice if he could walk away from this series and FX could hand it over to someone else. Oh well.

I haven't seen it, but was looking forward to it. At least know he focuses on The First Nine, that's what his fans want! Do it on Showtime or HBO Sutter, nothing wrong with FX.

This show was awful.
People just pretended to like it, because they are kissing the ring of Kurt Sutter... and everything he does, has to be GREAT....right?
Fail Kurt! Magic gone!

I really wanted to like this show, just because of Kurt Sutter. I just never liked it. I hope he develops something new soon.

I am so disappointed this show has been cancelled. I actually found it interesting, intriguing, and the witty
Inuendos were fun to watch. Although a bit graphic, I think that is what made it a bit of a guilty pleasure. I couldn't wait for each weeks episode. The characters were interesting and I loved the theme song. Although Ed Sheerans character was a small role, I loved him in it and wished he had a bigger part in the show. I hope this show is given another chance it deserves it!

It was a decent show at best. Great casting other then Katey Segal, her acting in this show was horrible. The Accent was so bad it was distracting and would take me completely out of the episode. If anything her entire story line was unnecessary. If you were to take her entire story line out of the show, it would still have made sense and would have been a better show. On the other hand Stephen Moyer was really good in his role.

As a side note ... it wasn't FX that cancelled TBX. It was Kurt Sutter himself. I am disappointed in his decision, though. Yes, it started off a bit slow. Yes, Katey's attempted accent sounded more like a vampire from Transylvania. But, overall, I think the characters developed quite nicely and I would've liked to have seen the show continue. *sighs* On the hunt, again, for another show in this time period.

What do they think only 18-49 yr old watch tv. When I was that age group I didn't have time for tv. Now I have time and they cancel all the good show. This was one of the best time pieces. I hope a another network picks this up.
