Netflix announced today that The Kominsky Method has been renewed for a third and final season. It has been some time since we last heard an update on the comedy's future, as today's news comes a year-and-a-half after its last pickup, and eight months following the release of its sophomore run.
The series has been a notable success for creator Chuck Lorre, the man behind huge hits such as The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. Its Golden Globe Award win last year gave Netflix its first for "Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy". The win in the category was also the first for Lorre for one of his original created series.
Michael Douglas stars in the series as Sandy Kominsky, a once-successful actor who now makes a living as a Hollywood acting coach. Together with his long-suffering agent and friend Norman, played by Alan Arkin, the two men navigate their third act while facing life's inevitable ups-and-downs in a city that places the highest value on youth and beauty.
Look for Season 3 of The Kominsky Method sometime in 2021.
