The cop drama has been canceled before its second season debut.
October 8, 2009
NBC has canceled its gritty police drama Southland just weeks before the second season was set to kick off. New episodes were to begin airing on October 23, with it said that six had already completed filming. At this time its unclear whether they will air.
This news comes just three months after the network had renewed the show with a 13-episode order. While Southland never fared well in the ratings, it's unclear what the reason for the cancellation was.

I hadn't heard this show was cancelled! What a loss! Such a fantastic, fast moving , gritty, wonderful show! I'm totally bummed! I guess I can drop TNT off of my channel list, it was their only descent show!
