CBS has picked up two additional seasons of 'How I Met Your Mother'. Now in its sixth season, the sitcom has been a steadily growing hit for the network. The main cast of Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobbie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, and Alyson Hannigan are all on board for the Seasons 7 and 8 of the show.

This is the second multi-year renewal by CBS in 2011. In January, 'The Big Bang Theory' was awarded a three year extension. The status of the network's biggest show, 'Two and a Half Men' is still unknown at this point. It is currently scheduled to return next season, but its future hangs in the balance because of star Charlie Sheen's latest troubles.
