A new Extreme Makeover spinoff will be coming to ABC in May.

ABC is coming out with a new spin-off of the Extreme Makeover franchise this spring, titled "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition".
The aptly named series will follow eight different participants as they set out to shed major pounds with the help of trainer Chris Powell. Each hour-long episode will document one person's journey of extreme weight loss over the course of a year.
Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition premieres on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 10:00pm on ABC following The Bachelorette.

Has the show been cancelled and if not when can we expect the new season for 2012 - 2013?
