Prospects for another season of the superhero drama don't look good.
March 14, 2011
Fans of "No Ordinary Family" should probably prepare themselves for the fact that next month's season closer will also be its series finale. It's been a tough run for the freshman ABC drama since it debuted last September. Being slotted in Tuesday nights against some pretty steep competition, the show has always struggled to find a wide audience. And while there is no official word from ABC on the superhero series' future, all signs point to cancellation for the show.
Let's first have a look at the ratings. The show premiered decently enough with a 3.2 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, but quickly dropped off over the course of the season to a point where its most recent episode earned a 1.2 - far less than half of what it debuted with. That rating alone would be enough to limit the show's chances for renewal.

Then late last month, news broke that ABC had trimmed the number of episodes for the show's first season by two.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the series' two lead stars have recently signed on to new fall pilot shows on another network. Michael Chiklis has booked a role on a new CBS comedy pilot called "Vince Uncensored", while co-star Julie Benz has joined an untitled CBS supernatural medical drama. In both cases the stars' new projects are in second position to No Ordinary Family, meaning the superhero drama has priority should it be renewed. It should be noted, however, that stars of returning shows don't typically start booking other projects.
We likely won't know No Ordinary Family's fate until May, but as it stands now the show likely will not return when the Fall season starts.

Watched this on Netflix, really great story. Started off kind of boring, but if people stuck through it turned out great. I bet more people watched it onn Netflix then on ABC

seriously???!?!??! This isn't fair, i busted my hump through ten years of Smallville only to catch a 3 second glimpse of the actual man of steel ( and it was computer generated! talk about bein short changed). you have a great idea with Heroes, and then have a brain fart and massive ADD. And now finally, FINALLY... right setting for this idea comes along, and wouldn't ya know it aint half bad- oh... wait... we gotta cancel this one too... I CAN'T LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!

We recently discovered "No ordinary Family " on Netflix and we loved it. There's not much left on tv that you can enjoy and watch with your hole family. I never heard of it before and I was shocked when I found out that the show was canceled! Maybe not enough publicity or idk! but whatever reason the ratings were so "low " I'm sure it was cause the majority of people or families like mine did not know about it. I'm a father of three and we all heroes somehow with the special ability to do our part and support everything that is family oriented with a good and moral message.

I randomly started watching this serie in Netflix and loved it!! I think the only thing that this serie needs is publicity because it is just AWESOME!! if I would have heard of it before I would have watch it already butt there is NO PUBLICITY about it!!!

My family just discovered this show from Net Flex. I never saw it on T.V. You don't even give it time to catch on. I saw no publicity for this new show. How are we suppose to watch something that we know nothing about? I agree with others about the quick 1 series policies that have been the norm for several years, Why should we get involved or interested in new pilots if you are not going to give them a chance for people to view them before you pull them off the air? We families are hungry for family oriented movies... without sex and perversion. It was good science fiction that families could enjoy together.

I found No Ordinary Family on Netflix. This show brought me joy. After a hard day of work, I really enjoyed being able to sit down and watch a show, such as this one. I love super hero shows and movies. My favorite show was xena and I have been trying to find something like it since i finished it. No Ordinary Family was able to fill the entertrainment gap in my life, especially since Lucy Lawless showed up on the last few episodes! If this show is over I will become depressed. I already live a very hard life and am too poor to shop for clothes or to seek out of the house entertainment such as going out to eat or to watch a movie. Please don't make my life any less joyfull. Thank you and I really hope that someone with autority on the matter cares to read these comments.
