CMT has canceled Working Class after its first season on the air. The sitcom was the network's first attempt at an original scripted series.

The announcement was made via a message posted on the show's Facebook page, which read, "Unfortunately, CMT will not be pursuing a second season of Working Class. We're sad to see it go."

The series premiered in January of this year and ran for 12 episodes through April 1. The story followed a single working mother who moves her kids into a wealthy neighborhood in hopes of providing them a better life.
