NBC debuted the retooled Law & Order: Los Angeles in a special time period last night, but the changes don't seem to have done it any good. The already-struggling show returned to series low ratings in its 9:00-11:00pm slot, earning a 1.5 in adults 18-49 - down from a 2.2 in its last original episode back on December 1, 2010.

The network surely hoped the supersized two-hour return of Law & Order: LA would bring in better numbers, especially after making major changes to the show by removing cast members Skeet Ulrich, Regina Hall, and Megan Boone.

The series returns to its regular timeslot next Monday at 10:00pm. NBC will likely be keeping a close eye on the show's ratings over the next few weeks, as the show's continued future would seemingly require an improvement over last night's numbers.
