The struggling legal drama will not return for a second season.
May 15, 2011
CBS has canceled freshman legal drama The Defenders after one season. Also canceled by the network today were comedies Mad Love and $#*! My Dad Says.
The Defenders followed two Las Vegas defense attorneys played by James Belushi and Jerry O'Connell. The series got off to a decent start last September, earning an early full-season pickup after a month of averaging a 2.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.
However, its ratings started to slip in subsequent airings and CBS elected to move the show to Friday nights, where it continued to stumble. It fell as low as 1.1 in February, before slowly recovering to as high as 1.5 in its second-to-last episode. The show aired its series finale on March 11.

"In search of Curious looking Bowelmovements."
This was fun. Witty, dramatic at times, quirky, and always a pleasure watching Jim Belushi.
You dropped the ball again, CBS. Hey, how about a reality show? "***t My Network Cancelled"
