NBC is bringing back The Marriage Ref this month for a second season. After debuting in February 2010 as a mid-season replacement, the series moves to the network's summer schedule this time around, with its premiere set for June 26 at 10:00pm ET/PT.
The Premise of The Marriage Ref puts couples in front of a celebrity panel of 'experts', where they are shown video footage of an ongoing fight between the two. They discuss the merits of each side amongst themselves and vote on who they think is in the right.
After being met with mixed reviews and modest ratings during its freshman season, NBC is promising a 'new and improved' version of the show this time around. Tom Papa is returning to his position as host, but this time the couples will appear in-studio and in front of the panel of experts with a goal of deciding who of the couple is in the right.
Also new is a grand prize of $25,000 given out each episode, with the winner also receiving a billboard in their hometown declaring them right in the fight. Some of the celebrities on tap for this season's panel include Julianne Moore, Regis Philbin, Ricky Gervais, Patti LaBelle, and Tracy Morgan.
