USA Network has decided to cancel In Plain Sight, but will still go ahead with a shortened fifth season of the show to give its audience a sense of closure.
Season 4 of In Plain Sight, which follows a US Marshal working for the Witness Protection Program, aired its finale just this past Sunday. The show's fifth and final season of eight episodes will premiere sometime in the Spring of 2012.

I just started watching the show and recently saw the pilot in season 1. This show is great and competes, IMHO, strongly against other shows aired during the spring/summer season if not better. Actually, this show could compete in the fall season very well... damn advertisers...
