One episode of the medical drama will go unaired.
August 24, 2011
ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

My husband and I really like Combat Hospital. Good stories every week. Our son is in the Army and stationed in Afghanistan so it has a lot of meaning for us.

I loved this show! Great values and liked the actors. A modern day MASH. I am very disappointed if it is going to be discontinued. And i dont like how they skipped an episode. I thought something was missing when they had trang see the therapist for anger issues... That was kinda out of the blue. And rebecca being into simon so quickly was abrupt. Anyway, abc, bring it back!!!

Love this show! It would be stupid to take it off and makes no sense stopping it early. What are they going to play -reruns?

Combat Hospital is a great show who cares if it from Canada other places create good shows. I find it great showing other counties view and story telling. Just like China Beach back late 80's it was on for 4 yrs. MASH for 11 yrs. I remember watching them with my parents. This is a good show and a different view point we are all suppose to be on the same side in the fight why can't we watch a quality show from another country! If I need to move to Canada to watch quality shows I'll start looking for a job since the US isn't getting me a job.

I'm a fan of good quality shows and the US Networks they have a couple of good shows. Every time US airs, a show from Canada or Uk I get hooked then there gone! The US Network would rather show CRAP cheap to make shows which equals talk shows or reality show I'm sorry they are not "reality"! I WANT scripted shows with actors & actresses. I never missed an episode of Combat Hospital and its on my DVD wish list. I watch Flashpoint on DVD since every friday night this summer it was suppose to be on but it wasn't on in order or skipped weeks. I hope to get the Listener on DVD to but its not easy getting DVD's from other Countries. I don't have the money for cable TV so I just have the regular broadcast channels. I wish they would let Summer shows be! For a time all they showed were reruns during the summer I HATE reruns of show I just finished watching in May! ABC only has me for Castle, Body of Proof and maybe Rookies Blues if they cancel another show with Luke Mably in it. I liked The Gates and they canned it. Leave my summer shows ALONE! WHATS THE HARM IN SHOWING THE LAST EPISODE ON SEPT 13TH THEY ARE JUST GOING TO SHOW A REPEAT OF BODY OF PROOF! Networks don't care about their viewers if they keep up this crap up they aren't going to have a network to run! What's wrong with giving shows a chance why is tv turn around so fast they don't let shows get audiences & when they do they can them. I need to invent a different way to rate TV or internet watching. Nielsen Rating System says it the Global Leader in Media Information TV, well I'd like to see the 2nd best? I want to be a viewer for Nielsen!

I started watching Combat Hospital when it opened for one reason and that was to see Luke Mably. I have followed his career in movies and stateside/canadian TV because he is a talented, attractive and engaging young actor, and I like his work even if I am older than his mother. The surprise was that I really liked the other cast members, their talent and chemistry together and the subtle story lines right from the start. It was a well writtten and acted drama show. Rare for me, because I am almost totally a viewer of news, sports and movies only on TV. I am disappointed to learn that this program is due for cancellation as it was something I looked forward to seeing and never missed. It certainly was a cut above all the perpetual police, lawyer dramas and the non-funny laugh-track situation comedies, not to mention all the totally boring, stupid reality and game shows that I long ago gave up watching. Yes, this was another medical show, but it was also about something more relevant in being a war/combat focus. It's too bad that the powers that be see everything as a numbers game and don't understand the value of a gem that may take some time and tweeking. I enjoyed it... and thanks to all the cast and production people for your efforts and talent. Hope you all get picked up in this in Canada or by some other production. I bet you do.

Favorite show of the season. I do not get to watch live but watch online. What a quality show with quality actors. The exposure, the lessons, the visual, the values - there is so much in this show on a deep level and enough on a superficial one to transport one away. As patriots and as an avid theater person - the loss of this show is huge.

Sick to death of all the reality shows or talent shows. It is a sad day to have a program cancelled that actually allows parents to talk to their children about tolerance of beliefs and religion and the price of war. Please do not cancel this show. We do not need another game show, reality show or talent show.
