One episode of the medical drama will go unaired.
August 24, 2011
ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

About the only show worth watching this summer. Please don't cancel Combat Hospital for another police, sex, or reality show. Since we are engaged in a war in the Middle East, it seems that this show would be of some value to the network.

Thank God they are going to cancel this show...I don't think there has ever been a show more poorly done on so many levels!

I guess there's another show that may have a too Canadian flavour for a US network just like Flashpoint and The Listener. And then here big guns come along, arms in the air, protesting when there are some government grants for artistic installations and professionals, and when American producers decide to come here in good part because of the quality they know. The same people will be there to block any Canadian show to penetrate American soil, while we are literally swamped with American shows, both in English and in French! Mind you, some are quite good, those unfortunately too often cancelled too fast to my liking, but that's just me; this while others just outrun any programming logic (stop the reality shows, song and dance in so many versions! Pure madness!). Anyway, just observing a trend here... We too can produce something palatable on our own you know. Seems to me especially with this combat context, a kind of more contemporary and serious MASH, the American people would be interested in something we truly share. Anyway, I hope Combat Hospital gets renewed or picked up, I'm really hooked.

Combat hospital is one of the better shows that ABC has brought on for its summer run. And as normal for ABC, they are canceling a good show before it has a chance to mature. This is why ABC is so far behing in viewership compared to CBS and NBC

This sucks, I like Combat Hospital. The networks always pulls the really good shows and continues with the stupid ones. Just because they have low viewing doesn't mean its not like.
