ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

When ABC cancelled Defying Gravity I thought they had lost their collective marbles. If they cancel Combat Hospital , I will be sure of it.
Both of these are fine series , well scripted , well acted , well directed & well produced. In both cases ABC failed to provide proper promotion resulting in less than flattering ratings. This was ABCs fault & not that of the shows. My fear is that ABC will replace Combat with another mind-numbing reality show that offers the viewers nothing more than a bunch of poorly produced cheap fluff. A sad day indeed.

Please do not cancel Combat Hospital. I love this show. It's like an updated version of MASH! my entire family looks forward to every episode. Good clean old fashion drama. That's what Tv now seems to be missing.

I totally agree with Tammy and I really looked forward to the next episode of Combat Hospital. It's so rare on TV now to have a show with a variety of good characters AND an actual story line that's interesting. Please don't replace something that works with another reality show of scary fake body parts with phony crying and screeming.

We will agree with so many other couples that have spoken here....I usually don't watch tv...but one evening my husband & I were surfing & found Combat Hospital....we really liked it & looked forward to other episodes....now we see it may not air again.....STOP sacraficing the really great shows for the mediocre junk that seem so mindless! Listen to your real viewers!!!!!!!! Leave it on the air!

ABC is going to the dogs. It use to be one of my favorite stations to watch and now they are taking "All My Children", "One Life To Live" and now "Combat Hospital" off the air. As far as I am concerned they can stick ABC and Disney who also owns ABC up their butt. I will never watch any of their stations again..There has also been so many other shows they have taken off the air that were really good shows, so for me and I know of many others that there is no more ABC or Disney channels on my tv..........

I cannot believe that they cancelled Combat Hospital. The characters are great - sometimes too focused on sexual escapades rather than the stories behind the lives and conflicts they face which are so compelling....but love the characters. Will try to find out how we can get it from the Canadian channels....

The sad thing is, they may put ANOTHER reality show or some other crazy show in place of one of the best shows we have seen in a long time. Please keep Combat Hospital coming. It's good CLEAN TV. Not much of that anymore.
