One episode of the medical drama will go unaired.

ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

You are so right, they cancel all the good series-hate it when predictable shows are renewed.

I don't know why I spend my time and emotion on great new series that get cancelled while the same old garbage goes on years after it has jumped the shark. I really hope Combat Hospital is not cancelled!!!

I watched the episode that wasn't aired, and I can see why they didn't air it. It pained the U.S. and Canadian military in a bad light. And it told about the Taliban using children from orphanages as suicide bombers, which our media here in the U.S. doesn't tell you about. So they may not have aired it here for that reason, that they don't want us to know some things... But it was a great episode! they should have shown it, cause it connects to the final episode, it would have helped a bit!

Hey, For what it's worth I'm from the UK I have been following this series from the 1st episode. It is a modern day MASH. For me the show well very well produced, extremely well acted in the main and was quite frankly one of the best shows of 2011. I don't think the short run has anything to do with the fact that it was Canadian Produced - it is purely based on costing. Shame on ABC, it is about time they listened to what viewers really want, and perhaps go for the occasional series that is a bit more costly to produce and air.

I am so tired of good shows being canceled.The only shows that ABC shows any more is reality shows. How do shows like Wipe Out get renewed every year they are so stupid and I am tired of garbage being to tv. Start showing shows that real people want to watch not scripted sex on these reality shows.

Really enjoyed this show, it's the first show i actually waited for every week. It even inspired me slightly and I would hate to see it canned.

Combat Hospital is my favorite show they better not cancell it i'm sick and tired of them creating good shows showing one or two seasons and then cancell them come on just like s#@$ my dad say great show- gone
mad love- gone chicoago code -gone come on i bet if they would put some of these shows out there a little longer peopl will catch on i'v had show at first i wasn't interested but later i was and i watched them till they cut them then i still watched the rerun like the unit awsome show it's like the navy seals or army rangers there a secret team that go in and do jobs that are hush hush awsome show ran 5 or six years never watched it when it was on never even knew now i watch it all the time they better not take away another good military show combat hospital is so real it shows us whats kinda going on over there exceptsome things butfor the most keep it on and give some other shows a thought before you take them of maybe take a poll ask during one of the shows and see whjat the peolpe say!!!!!
