Showtime premiered its latest drama, Homeland, last night and it looks to have another successful series on its hands. The show posted the highest ratings for a new Showtime drama in eight years, drawing 1.08 million viewers in its 10:00pm time slot.

Those numbers, combined with favorable response from both critics and viewers, should all but secure a multi-season run for the new Clarie Danes thriller.
