It looks as if the end of Homeland is near. In an interview with Howard Stern earlier today, star Claire Danes appeared to confirm that the long-running drama will indeed not continue past next season - the show's eighth.
Stern was first to bring up the fact that Homeland would be coming to a close next year, and Danes concurred, responding simply with, "yeah, that's it." The news doesn't come as a complete surprise, as showrunner Alex Gansa has gone on the record in the past about likely wrapping things up in Season 8.
The series was last picked up in 2016, when two additional seasons were ordered at the same time as part of an overall deal with Fox 21 TV Studios. While Showtime has not officially commented on the show's future, it appears in all likelihood that Season 8 will be its final act.

Agree about Damian Lewis' character--loved the first three seasons to death, and the show did drop off a bit. I just finished season 5 and although it started out really slow and boring, it picked up. Love the team of Saul, Carrie, and Quinn--hope nothing changes there.

Bring back Damien Lewis. The government faked his death.Maybe he is being held prisoner again and Carrie will find him. He is her one true love. Make it happen!!!

Love this show one of the few shows me and my husband enjoy watching together! Shame its ending but I do think its run its course

Homeland is one if the best shows on the air. 8 seasons is plenty. I'm glad we had them.

It should have finished about 4 seasons back really, you could see it was struggling to contain a decent story after Damian Lewis character was killed off.

its lost its way big time and when u have kids involved it really causes issues with shows .. shame because i loved 1-5 but from then its been hard going to watch
