NBC has removed the freshman drama from its schedule effective immediately.

NBC has made its first cancellation of the 2011-12 season, with The Playboy Club being the one to fall. The freshman series had only aired three episodes before getting the axe.
The network's decision was likely made after the show pulled a lowly 1.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, marking its third straight week of falling viewership. Controversy around the show's subject matter likely factored into the move as well.
Replacing The Playboy Club on Mondays at 10:00pm will be repeats of Prime Suspect, another new NBC series also faltering the ratings.

It was a great show, get rid of some of the reality shows. People need something else to think about. Time producers woke up and give the show an season. Great storyline and actors, really disappointed. You keep some crappy stupid show on that has no meaning and take off something that was intriging.

I can't believe they cancelled this show. How about giving a new and unique type of show a chance. I strongly disagree on NBC pulling the plug. I hope they live to regret it. Without out the playboy club NBC has become the not must see TV of the 2011-2012 season!!!!!

NBC: Boooooooooooooooo!!! we are too damn politically correct in this country... Shows like this DO NOT exploit women!!! Cool it with all the negative commentary, women's groups..... Playboy bunnies existed, gangsters existed, slavery existed, etc. etc. it's called history!!!

I love the Playboy Club...can't believe it's gone after 3 episodes...give it a chance for crying out loud!

This is always happens. You need to give it a chance before you just rip it off the air. Maybe change the night before you just axe it! THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW! Show being the main word to look at.

This is really too bad! I was not watching any of the network channels until this show aired. I really liked it and couldn't wait to see more. NBC you blew it! Now I am back to cable channels and not network channels. You big networks need to heed to what people are actually enjoying and would come back for more if you even gave it a chance.

NOW will you bring back "Off the map"? That was a great show that was cancelled to make way for shows that would bring in more male viewers. I believe you have just found out that that is not happening with your choices of programing. Your female viewers would like to see you bring our shows back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im very upset< i hardly watch anything on NBC and i really got into this show, I liked the story line and it kept you wanting more every week, this is a HUGE disappointment. Like everyone else, i do hope cable picks it up.
