The sci-fi series will still be shopped to other networks.
March 5, 2012
Fox has decided not to proceed with a second season of science fiction series Terra Nova, effectively canceling the struggling show. 20th Century Fox studios, which produces the series, is keeping a small amount of hope alive by attempting to shop it to other networks, but chances of a pick-up appear slim at this point.
Terra Nova's cancellation was somewhat expected, given its mediocre ratings and hefty production costs. Fox has also recently filled up its roster of dramas with new high profile shows Alcatraz and Touch, which they expect will outperform the cancelled dinosaur drama.

I HATE the stupid reality shows. I LOVE good science fiction. O'Mara was outstanding in Life on Mars and in Terra Nova, both of which were/are outstanding entertainment. Why can't we have just a couple television shows that require some thought and are creative? Don't the networks see that the box office supports good sci-fy?

I keep hearing "ratings, ratings, ratings,.." Who are tabulating these ratings???!! I find it ironic that entertaining, well written, well produced, cerebral, staple shows like "Terra Nova", the "Stargate" franchise and others that are constantly discussed, raved about and rapidly develop a loyal fanbase get cancelled quickly while the truly anemic shows like, all of these "Reality tv" shows and the strings of these "Housewives" shows that celebrate the decay of western society keep coming back year after year. Who are the supposed masses watching these "Housewives", "Jersey" something these "Extreme..Simple Life Paris Hilton Big Brother" whatever, these, who is on their worst behavior and worst content reality shows, "My Big Fat Obnoxious...",... ETC... that are driving their ratings up to keep these horrible shows on the air and continually produced???? Is this Pop Culture??? Is it Morbid Comic Relief to watch these horrible people acting out and behaving as badly as possible?? I hear alot of people scoffing and jeering about the type people that would watch these shows but I never have run into or chatted with anyone who actually does watch these visually painful to watch pieces of broadcasted crap. Granted there are a few informative and educational reality shows out there, like, "Mythbusters", "Dual Survival", "Man, Woman Wild", and others on networks like The Discovery Channel, History Channel, Etc. Who actually makes the decisions what we have available to watch??

networks need to develop patience with some shows. It takes time to develop an audience. This was truly an enjoyable show to indulge in.

Cancelling Terra Nova is a bummer! It had a lot of following overseas, I am from Malaysia! The storyline was getting more and more interesting and the cliffhanger final episode left a lot of things unanswered. I hope it gets picked up by some other network so that we fans are not left dissatisfied! I'm sure there are ways to cut cost!

No surprise that a show with a implausible story line, repetitive visits to a rogue guerilla camp and a lead actor who chews up more scenery than the dinos(Stephen Lang)Thanks for putting us out of our misery.

Good idea to cancel this dull Dino drama, story line sucked, who would want to go back 65 million years just to get vaporized by an on comming Mt. Everest size Asteroid, should have made it so they would go back like 10,000 years so only bad thing is the occasional Smiladon & Terra bird.

Terra Nova will go with all the other great shows networks have cancelled (Off the Map for one) Why must Fox cancel such a great show with a season finale that could have carried it all through season 2 just to make room for crap? Thoroughly saddened as I was REALLY looking forward to a season 2... ;__;
