The network has pulled its remaining episodes from its schedule.
May 11, 2012
It is a sad day for fans of NBC's Awake. The network has cancelled the freshman drama. Only 11 of the show's 13 planned episodes have aired, but the remaining two are still on the schedule for the next two Thursdays.
Awake has had an up-hill battle since premiering as a mid-season replacement back in March. Its plot contained sci-fi elements, was rather intricate at times, and required dedicated weekly viewing in order to keep up with its running storylines. Unfortunately it didn't find enough of an audience for the network to go forward with it, however the fans it did have were passionate about the show's quality and uniqueness.

How can such a good show get cancelled after 1 season ????
This was one of the best serials I've ever seen. Hope some other network has the common sense to pick up this gem and renew it.

Ok -This is the sixth show I think that I watch that I have just found out is cancelled - Bummer night !! This did have enough to keep one watching. I tape 2 shows an hour most nights on my PVR/ DVR - the ratings do not detect then that I am watching that channel I think - many of us watch on-line also -

Having lost my only son, last August, I felt like this show was speaking to me. I loved the intricately woven plot lines. I guess the average TV viewer isn't smart enough to follow it. I certainly hope that another network will pick it up.

NBC decision-makers...your effin' STUPID!! Your denser than the "reality" shows you keep supporting and pumping out! NBC is not even a decent network. I hope an alternative network picks "Awake" up. I'd love the actors, writers and everyone involved in the show become super successful, make a bundle, and suck away NBC's view-ratings. That would be worth it!

I am upset that they cancelled this show. It was great and I always looked forward to watching weekly. I was looking forward to seeing how they continued the story.

If you want an intelligent plot oriented tv show to be given the chance to succeed, do not present it to any of the alphabet networks or Fox! Syfy, USA, or TNT is the only venue an interesting, intelligent show can survive and grow. The networks only want "Reality Shows" because they may be garbage, but they are cheap!

I am so disappointed that NBC decided to cancel a show that did not involve classless, fame seeking, whores... You should be ashamed of yourself NBC. I know I am boycotting your network. As for the show, I am going to miss watching Awake on Thursday evenings.
