The network has pulled its remaining episodes from its schedule.
May 11, 2012
It is a sad day for fans of NBC's Awake. The network has cancelled the freshman drama. Only 11 of the show's 13 planned episodes have aired, but the remaining two are still on the schedule for the next two Thursdays.
Awake has had an up-hill battle since premiering as a mid-season replacement back in March. Its plot contained sci-fi elements, was rather intricate at times, and required dedicated weekly viewing in order to keep up with its running storylines. Unfortunately it didn't find enough of an audience for the network to go forward with it, however the fans it did have were passionate about the show's quality and uniqueness.

I'm done.
This has happened too many times, especially with SciFi or SciFi-flavored shows. They string you along, end on a cliff-hanger, and the network cancels the show.
Why bother any more?
They've slit their own throats.
They wanted better ratings? How's about NO VIEWERS?
Aw, crumb!

Can't believe NBC is cancelling Awake. The show was unbelievable. It kept you guessing and made you think. All of my shows that I'm invested in always get cancelled. Awake, Unforgettable, Alcatraz, Terra Nova all good shows that make for good TV. I agree with the other comments - I hope another TV station picks it up. C'mon NBC give the shows a chance before cancelling. Lost was a show that I didn't get into, because I thought it was weird, until the 3rd season but then it became one of my favorites. So glad it didn't get cancelled after season 1. Quit cancelling shows NBC. I'm tired of all these reality shows.

Another great show gets the ax.....it wasn't even given a chance to connect with an audience. Oh well at least we get plenty of mind numbing "reality" shows. I certainly didn't feel like the plots were TOO intricate to follow...just because the "average television viewer" has a low IQ and a distaste for intelligent, thought provoking programming why should we be made to suffer. I can't say I am actually surprised...it a surprise when any show with any amount of intelligence or creativity SURVIVES!!!

My wife and I loved this show and it was the best drama of this season. Most of the formula TV on now is CRAP. This made you think, kept you interested. I don't know what it was up against, but the show showed have been moved around to keep it alive. I hope some other network picks up on it.
DAMN WE ARE TICKED OFF NBC...you are a loser network and will stay that way if you keep losing these great shows.

Awake is the best new show. I barely watch T.V. but I always make sure I tune in to watch Awake. I can't believe it has been cancelled. Please don't cancel it!

So disappointing! You get invested in the characters, and the story, to find out they are cancelling the show. Awake, Alcatraz, Unforgettable, all such great TV. I love watching Survivor & Amazing Race too for the thrill of something I would never do, but it is getting very tiring watching a show to only have it get cancelled, especially when its an excellent show. I hope another station picks them up.

I though it was brilliant. Like most shows that have to build or grow, more time could have been given. It was by far the most intriguing show to me. Hope some other station takes it.

Please tell me why I should invest my time in anything this network has to offer if they're not willing to make an investment in smart TV. This is one of the best new shows to come along in years; offered up as a mid season replacement when viewers were already sucked into their schedules and NBC can't even give it a full season's chance to succeed. Ridiculous.

NBC DO THE RIGHT THING AND RENEW AWAKE IT WILL BE A HIT.
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A NIGHT THAT'S FOR DRAMAS AND SUSPENSE.AGAIN YOU WOULD LEAD THE T.V. STATIONS IN BEING THE FIRST TO DEDICATE A NIGHT TO SMART T.V. BECAUSE ALL THAT OTHER CRAP (REALITY T.V.) STINKS AND YOU KNOW IT. I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO USE (SMART T.V.)FOR THAT NIGHT OF PROGRAMING.LISTEN TO YOUR FANS.
