The Shonda Rhimes drama ends after five years on the air.
October 19, 2012
ABC has cancelled Private Practice after deciding not to order the back nine episodes of the current sixth season, which will now be 13 episodes in length. The medical drama, originally spun off of the still-going-strong Grey's Anatomy, has aired over 100 episodes since premiering in 2007.

WHAT? You are cancelling Private Practice??? It is my only guilty pleasure and now it is gone! Why why why? why not take that boring, what ever show, not my private practice. I will be lost without it. If the other networks were smart, they would pick up. Hey, I know Oprah seems to know what we really like, Oprah, I know you love Private Practice as much as we do. Hmmm....

I can't believe that they are cancelling Private Practice. All you see on TV are reality shows like Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim & Kourtney, Honey Boo-Boo(an embarrassment to American children) yet good shows seem to be a thing of the past. It's like today's music it stinks! Maybe if the TV execs would put shows on better days & better times they would last? Wednesday have nothing on while Thursday have Grey's, Scandals why do execs want to put all good shows on one night? I am very disappointed I really do like Private Practice.

I am so disappointed!!! I do not understand the reasoning behind this decision!! Maybe CBS will pick it up!! They got David Letterman!! Who on earth at ABC made this decision??

I am devastated that Private practice is cancelled. It is my favorite show. I don't know why ABC moved it to Tuesdays. I hope it can be saved. There is nothing goodm left on TV!

Private Practice is one of the best shows on TV. ABC is slowly destroying its fan base. Not everyone cares about watching only reality shows. Why can't we have good drama shows anymore? I for one am watching less and less on ABC. They keep taking off their good shows. Hopefully one of the other major networks will pick up Private Practice. It rocks! Brothers and Sisters was an excellent show. I watched it every week just as I do Private Practice. Looks like I'm bound for CBS or NBC. By the way, who is running the lineup at ABC? Well, whoever you are, you don't know good TV. I hope someone with some sense gets your job. Maybe then Private Practice will return. This is a travesty, and I am outraged that such a great show is being canceled. Get some sense about you, ABC!!!!! You are NOT the only network out there!!!

Doesnt abc want to keep their viewers. They seem to get great shows like brothers and sisters, etc., then cancel that as a great sunday night show and then private practice following another great show, greys anatomy. Does anyone know what they are doing. You cant change the time frame when the show is doing so well and viewers are use to having that time to watch the favorites. I think abc needs a new program manager. Are you planning to cancel greys and shark tank Next? Hope not, because you'll lose ths viewer for good!Hellow NBC<CBS.
