The previously cancelled drama is confirmed to return.
January 15, 2013
In a long-rumored move, AMC has un-cancelled The Killing, renewing the popular drama for a third season. It has been roughly six months since the network announced that it was cancelling the crime series, much to the dismay of its many fans. In the months that followed, rumors swirled that the show's writers were back to work as the network was working on a deal to bring the show back.
Season 3 of The Killing will air 12 episodes, focusing this time around on a brand new case for detectives Linden and Holder to work on. No return date has been announced, but production will start up again in February.
UPDATE: The Killing Season 3 premieres on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 8:00pm with a 2-hour episode.

Watched 2 episodes...horribly written...it should've stayed "killed". Watch Twin Peaks to see how this type of show is done well.Even the end of a fubar'd Twin Peaks was better than The Killing ever was.

As long as Season 3 isn't in Seattle.. or at least during a better weather year for Seattle (yeah, like there are any).. There was simply way too much rain and overcast in season 1 and 2. The show would be soooo much better if the weather wasn't so darn depressing all the time.
Of course, they are probably only doing this because Walking Dead will be in hiatus come fall... Breaking Bad will be over come fall... what else do they have??? Not much currently.

I like this show, but its second season ended fairly well, with almost no loose ends. So, if I was AMC and had to pick only one show to be un-cancelled, it would be "Rubicon" instead of "The Killing".
Anyway, let's celebrate this move and hope this time they can solve each killing in one single season. I hated the ending of the first one.
